What can you expect to learn from reading your tabulation? You'll be reading US Census Bureau numbers to find out what average nationwide monthly energy costs are, split up for each state.
The results of this tabulation are well worthwhile. We might be tempted to think that energy costs balance out - that is to say. if you live in a cold state, you spend a lot on heating but not much on cooling. If you live in the south, you spend a lot on cooling, but not much on heating. However, the most expensive state (energy wise) costs twice as much per month as the least expensive state. And the surrounding states are similar. But interestingly, the most expensive state does not seem to have as great of temperature extremes as the most economical state does. (Perhaps the differences are due more to politics than weather?) At any rate, get the tabulation to see how your state fares!
