LoVal & HiVal explanation
The first thing to notice is that if you've bought our National Household Counts by Heating Fuel, you'll see that the numbers on that report don't match the numbers on this page. That's because, as explained in average monthly energy cost, some people - even some people who heat with wood or solar energy - have their energy costs bundled with other bills (such as rent or condo fees). These households cannot be used when calculating energy costs, so the household counts on this page are lower than the numbers that reflect the entire nation. In short, the household counts on this page reflect only those households that were used in cost calculations.

To get the full report - giving the same detail as we see above, except containing average monthly energy bills instead of question marks, buy our pre-prepared report.  It's easy to buy - you pay via PayPal (we never see your credit card information) and it's delivered to you by PayLoadz.

It will be delivered in two different formats: .csv (Comma Separated Values) for the technical number-crunching spreadsheet users, and also as .htm (just a plain ol' web page) for the people who just want to look at the numbers and don't have any special software.

Get the full tabulation showing average monthly energy bills in the USA broken down by heating fuel type for $12, using PayPal

What can you expect to learn from reading your tabulation? You'll be reading US Census Bureau numbers to find out what average nationwide monthly fuel bills are, split up for each heating fuel type.

The results of this tabulation are pretty fascinating - people who choose the most expensive fuel type spend about twice as much on energy as those who choose the most economical fuel type. (Keep in mind that these numbers are *total* fuel cost - including electricity for air conditioning, etc., so clearly, choice of heating fuel has a huge impact on your bills.) Where in the range does your fuel type fall?
